A Goofy Movie similarities to Dumb and Dumber?

This has probably never been brought up for discussion, but I noticed that there are some similarities between A Goofy Movie and Dumb and Dumber, which was released very shortly before this movie. Here are some similarities:
- In both films, two guys go on road trips and stop at hotels on the way. Lloyd and Harry travel to Aspen, and Max and Goofy travel to Idaho and L.A.
- Max and Lloyd have a crush on a woman. However, unlike Mary (the woman that Lloyd and Harry visit in Aspen), Roxanne is not married.
- Its characters change directions or end up in the wrong area. In Dumb and Dumber, Lloyd drove to another city/state instead of Aspen and tells Harry that anyone can make a mistake, but Harry ignores him. In a Goofy Movie, Goofy ignores Max when Max tries to explain why he changed the map to get to Los Angeles.
- In both films, they (nearly) lose their vehicles. Lloyd sold Harry's van and traded it for a bike, and in the end, they walk back home. Goofy didn't sell his car; instead, it was wrecked as it landed in the sea and on the way to the Powerline concert in L.A., they hide in instrument cases. In the end, Goofy and Max travel back home in the wrecked car.
- Max and Lloyd are tired of being a nobody.
- In both films, its characters meet or hang out with some stars. Max and Goofy jam with Powerline, and in the end of Dumb and Dumber, Lloyd and Harry meet a group of Hawaiian Tropic bikini girls.
- Max and Lloyd dream of seeing their lovers.
