Most ridiculous part of the movie.

That wasn't ridiculous. They weren't supposed to know about it. She wasn't exactly proud of it. She felt he deserved the ass kicking but not for what they thought it was for. I don't think I would come home announcing I was raped after being drunk.

Idiots? Who? How could anyone know about the rape when Kristen never mentioned it? They were there on "black b*tch" business. The only thing idiotic would be that people want Kristen to be protected by guys that she falsely thought would snatch her purse and rob her just cuz they're black. So, she turns to them for protection but just not in an elevator.

I was thinking the same thing last night when I watched it again for the first time in years..
I was like they're basically saying "Raping a white girl is cool but you crossed the line when you called a black woman a bitch"??
The world is yours & everything in it. Its out there; get on your grind & get it. -

If Fudge had've said something like;
"First you apologise to the sister for the bitch remark. Then we're going to have a little talk with the police over what you did to the white girl."
I might have had some respect for him.
But no he totally ignores the rape just to have aCracker-bashingknowing the guy wouldn`t dare press charges.
So not only did the felony of rape go unaccounted for, all Fudge succeeded in doing was demonstrating to all the people present that this is how black people deal with something as petty and trivial as name-callinglike hissy-fit throwing baboons.
I say this with respect and sympathy to the Afro-Americans as I don't believe they ALL behave this way anymore than all white people are skinheads.
Mind you it IS possible they didn't know about the rape.
But it STILL did NOT make Fudges behaviour any more commendable.
Types like him are as much a detriment to Afro-America as skinheads are to Caucasian America. -

Maybe I'm wrong, but I figured they told Cube's character about it. If they didn't why bring the woman who was raped with them? I honestly think that Cube's character knew but put priority on Regina Kings character's problem over that of her room mates. Also, why has no one commented on why Regina King's character completely forgot about her room mates rape when the perp calls her out of her name? The whole sequence reeks of neglegence. I mean why the woman who was raped didn't tell the cops/security when they showed up outside the party is beyond me.

I haven't seen the movie in a while so I don't remember every detail of the scene. Did Kristen even tell Regina King's character that she was raped? Because the way I remember it she didn't really say anything, and when he called to talk to Kristen she just told RK's character that she didn't want to speak to him without telling her why. Like the above poster said, they brought Kristen along because she knew where he was and what he looked like.

Actually, it wasn't ridiculous at all, if you consider the fact that Fudge was just as racist as Remy and his neo nazi friends. I'm sure Fudge knew about Kristen getting raped, but he didn't care. The guy was a scumbag and racist, and only cared about people that were the same ethnicity as him.

Prove to me that Fudge was racist. Then, prove to me that he knew about the rape. You can't because he DIDN'T know. If that's the case Kristen was racist too. Every black guy wants to snatch a purse was her ignorant, outdated mentality and now a black guy is supposed to come to her rescue?

Haven't seen this in a while but why would Fudge know about the rape? Rape survivors usually aren't too keen on talking about their rape to men they don't know.
She came with them because she is the only one who could point the guy on the phone out. -

Also, maybe that was the point (although I hope this isn't wishful thinking on my part) that Fudge and his pals are meant to be jerks who'd take an insult like 'black bitch' more seriously than the rape of a white woman. Still the white frat boys got what they deserved even if it was for the wrong reason.

It's also pretty damned dumb to call out Fudge for not acting on Kristen's behalf. How is he at fault more than her two drunk ass "friends" who knew she wasn't used to drinking and knew she shouldn't have gone with Billy. They were concerned for less than a brief millisecond and then laughed. Besides, Fudge didn't even know about the rape. Fudge didn't owe Kristen a damned thing.

This is all neatexcept she didn't tell them he raped her. She was brought along to point out the guy who said "black bitch"
Instead of watching films about people going to college maybe some of you should attend yourselves.

Monet didn't know about the rape. All she knew is that Kristen was upset and didn't want to talk to Billy. Even if Monet knew about the rape, that was Kristen's personal business and not Monet's place to tell. Monet took her just to point the guy out that called her a black btch.
How can anyone be sure that Fudge and the rest knew about the rape? I don't believe they knew. They grabbed the guy for calling Monet a black btch.
What keeps bugging me is this. Let's for a minute say that Fudge and everybody DID know about the rape. Though Kristen was naive, how could anyone expect Fudge would protect Kristen when at the beginning of the film, her mindset and body language clearly suggested that she thought that every black guy would probably snatch her purse.
That is an outrageous stereotype to place on someone she didn't even know and who was not thinking anything like robbery in a damned elevator. How is it that she would then look to black guys who she perceived would rob her to now protect her after being raped by one of her own?
She didn't know Billy that well but she was drinking, fully free and open, putting up no guard (until it was too late). She trusted and was totally vulnerable to the very one that would rape her instead of the one she falsely thought would rob her. Maybe if she'd had the same protective clutch on her goodies as she did on that purse that nobody wanted, things might have gone down differently.
Now before you all get started, NO I am not saying she deserved to be violated and raped because she absolutely did not but people need to understand before placing anything like blame or criticism on Fudge, her own two so-called "friends" owed more responsibility to the situation than Fudge did.
Instead of criticizing him, rearrange the order enough to criticize the "friends" that mentioned that it might not be safe and then laughed. They didn't bother to intervene or check up on her but people wanna blame Fudge. Also recognize that Malik also did not deserve to be looked at as a purse snatching crook just because he was black. You cannot expect special treatment just becuz you are whatever. That goes for Kristen as well.
