a movie ahead of its timeI believe it gives you an honest depiction of what the gay/transgender community faces.
Vida goes home - only to be rejected by her own mother.
Vida befriends the battered wife - but it isn't until the end (after gaining trust) that Vida reveals she is really a man.
The sheriff (who is supposed to protect all equally) calls the trio weird and other names while persuing and persecuting them. The town rises to defend the trio.
Chi chi is almost attacked by a group of men.
So many themes and issues faced - all were handled delicately in this movie.
