Is it as gory as the original?

There is one part that's genuinely quite gory and scary, but not in an R-rated sort of way. Other than that, there are a few explosions that are more comical than anything else.
I thought this film was surprisingly as good as the original, which is unusual for sequels.

I agree, this was a good sequel. Especially considering that it went straight to video. The introduction of the shriekers was loads more satisfying than the introduction of the flying graboids from the third film. -

When I first heard about Tremors 2 I was excited, and was soooo keen to watch it. I loved it. Obviously, with this type of movie, the first was more scary (with the music), the second was kinda the same, like the moment they see the Graboid on the surface after the Shriekers have come out of it, that cymbal crash is good. and on the 3rd when that Dr guy dragging the extinguisher, the music bit there is good the 3rd is more humerous than gory or scary, but still entertaining, but introducing the 'ass-blaster' was too quick. Didn't really have much of an intro as to how they went from the Shrieker anyway. We know Shriekers come from Graboids and Ass-blasters from from Shriekers .. but how? Yes they shed their skin as we saw but how? We needed to see it.
I haven't seen the 4th installment so can't comment.
Will there be a 5th? Hmm I doubt it because they have done 2 sequels and 1 prequel. -

They didn't show the shriekers emerging from the graboids either. Perhaps they didn't film that because it would be too expensive to do the special effects on such a gut-spilling scene. They probably didn't show a shrieker-assblaster transformation for pacing. Tremors 3 is already longer than parts 1 and 2, and I read that they had to cut a lot of shrieker action from the middle of the script to keep it under 2 hours.
