                Well there was some embellishment, naturally.
                Historically, when Draco died his bones actually remained behind and they were used later in the 19th century to construct a massive hydraulic spider that was used to attack president Ulysses S. Grant during the union of the Transcontinental railroad.

                    really? i heard Draco turned feral before he died and was found sleeping under ground in London. He almost brought the worlds population to extinction. It took a bald Matthew McConaughey and a half starved Christian Bale to take him out McConaughey was his last meal shame

                                          Yes it's based on a event that happened in the 1930's but they decided to move the story to medieval times instead.
