I can't believe this movie is not more well known or appreciated. This has some pretty awesome writing and some pretty sophisticated action. The character progression in this movie is just as kick ass as the movie's explosive plot. Easily the best under-rated movie I've seen since probably Equilbrium as far as action goes and definetly on my list for all-times.
    I recommend this movie!

            Yeah, it's a solid 7.

It is vastly under-rated. Only reason I can think of why this film didn't do better than expected was the fact that Cutthroat Island [also directed by Renny Harlin] came out before this one. Shane Black [the writer] agreed that if this film had come out before Cutthroat Island, it might've done better. I think the studios [as they normally do] just didn't plug this movie out like they should've. There's nothing wrong with this film, in my opinion.

I didn't see the trailers. I can only assume they didn't have enough Samuel lines in them or some of Geena Davis lines as Charly Baltimore lines. The dialogue, was the best part of the movie, closely followed by the action sequences.

I was with you all the way until you mentioned Equilibrium; a film not fit to lick the boots of this!

Yeah it's cool to revisit this film once every few years.
Shane Black's script is what makes it shine. Good cast too of course.
