I'm with you. I thought it was a great period piece that I stumbled upon. Same with Lonely Hearts which had Travolta. I don't get all the questions about the hats. I mean, look at any photo of the public taken in the early 60s and back. Every man wore a suit and a hat. The people that don't seem to get it seem to be 20 year olds who see anyone not wearing a t-shirt and baggy shorts and any hat other than a baseball cap as weird. The sad thing is that means they know nothing about history or at least recent cultural history. A glance at photos taken in America in the 30s-early 60s shows this type of apparel being the norm as well as in movies filmed during this time period.

I thought it was pretty great. Nolte was fantastic in it. The mystery wasn't much of one, but that probably wasn't the point. It was more about the characters, their relationship with one another. The dialogue was really good.

Get what?
Nolte is fat and beats people around like he is Schwarzenegger
The plot holes in this film are huge, i dont even know what to begin with
Film was like "Look at me, im wearing hat, smoking and driving a convertible, i'm so 50's"
