It was already starting way before Donald Trump became president. The divide was already there and has been like this while Obama was president. A few governors of some states were threatening to ceceed from The USA after G. W Bush left the White House.
It just happened to get to this point while Donald Trump is president. It's the people. It isn't him.
Half the country wants things a different way, while the other is fighting it. It is like the game tug-of-war.
Personally, I don't want war but the other side will not negotiate, and now they are doing whatever the **** based upon the news media.
So that is why I am saying, the civil war is coming.

No chance in hell. All of our major institutions do not support him, including Republicans in Congress. They would remove him from office if he tried anything. All he has is his base and of them, those willing to die for him are probably pretty small. They would not last.

He has a significant portion of the population as his base, though. Maybe not a literal civil war but he can easily split the Republican Party. He may even run again In 2024.
The age of Trump populism is upon us, friend. The demagogue is not to be underestimated.
