I do identify with Daria, but not nearly as much as I do with Jane. Jane's sort of a more simple and calm version of me. Daria's cynical attitude is the closest trait of her's to me. Her wit, intellectual and social avoidance is not me though. Don't get me wrong, I do often go through seasons and days in which I actively avoid contact with people, but not nearly as consistently or as harshly as Daria does.

I both do and don't identify with Daria. On one hand, I was a loner in HS who read a lot and did pretty well in school. I didn't usually voice my opinions like Daria or try to antagonize people. I'd like to think I'm not such a black and white thinker like Daria was, though age helps with that :). I appreciated what Daria had to say about not fitting in with the masses and how she pointed out what was wrong with the world, but on the other hand I didn't mind when others called her out on being hypocritical or judgmental.
I also am a shy introvert, while I'd say Daria was an introvert who isn't shy at all.

In some ways I identify with Daria, but in some ways I don't.
I consider myself a realist like Daria, I love art and reading, I am quiet but not shy in the sense that I like talking about things of substance, grew up in a similar upper middle class suburb with busy parents, I have one best friend and everyone else is an acquaintance, and my sister is my exact opposite.
However, I played sports, I was involved in high school and did yearbook and other things, I got along with most everyone, I enjoy keeping up with fashion, I like doing my makeup and hair, and I'll admit I do enjoy superficial things like Quinn did.

I don't identify with Daria. I always found myself more so identifying with parts of Quinn's personality.

I identify with Daria in the sense that I hate when people blindly go along with ridiculous thing just because its popular. I was very shy in H.S, I'm very introverted now and I'm still not as quick to express my opinion and not nearly as clear and articulately as Daria did.
I was more like Jane or Jodie, personality wise when I did interact.

I didn't watch the show when it first aired(I'm not sure why I was aware it was on and had quite a following)I'm working my way through the episodes so impressions are still forming. What I get from it so far I can relate to Daria to a degree but like many of you I relate more to Jane and Jodie. Daria is more indifferent than I was at that age or now.I didn't speak out as much as Daria. I often find myself agreeing with her but she gets a little harsh .I also can see the gray areas that Daria didn't.
I guess I am a mix of Jodie and Jane with some of Daria's opinions.I would add some of Brittany's goofiness. Some of Jake thrown in there too.

I like her as a character, and empathized with her a little bit in regards to the stupid people she is around in school. That's how I felt in high school. However, no I do not really connect to her character. I have a younger sibling who is very similar to Daria, and it drives me up a wall. Could you imagine being around someone who is constantly sarcastic and seems like they are constantly in a bad mood? It is annoying.

I absolutely loved Daria as a character when I was a teen and I still do as an adult. I identified with her on many levels, but was also way more goofy and fun-loving back then.
I was somewhat of an outsider who didn't crave popularity and found the behavior of my peers insane most of the time as if I could see ironies that they could not (we shared that in common). I also took advanced classes and was the only black girl in orchestra which obviously didn't help the popularity thing but I was pretty solid as far as my identity and needed to be myself no matter what. I also hated PE and put no effort into it whatsoever while others took it seriously (same as Daria in the opening credits). But at the same time, my physical appearance, socializing with my small clique and pop culture were important to me at that time (unlike Daria). Nevertheless, Daria has always been pure gold.

When I was younger watching the show I thought I was like her but now looking back at my time in school I was more like Jane with a tiny bit of Jody.
