Some would say it was this one. For me, it was The Pianist.

Does that really have anything to do with the story? Debbie Allen was the producer and it did not seem to ruffle her feathers too much.

Good point! I believe Ellis Island bench-marked the great migration.

Yeah, when Cinque was retelling what happened on the ship, I was absolutely disgusted.

the most disturbing films are most of the time the true stories!

This is far and away from the most disturbing film ever made. But being disturbed can be rather subjective.
I'd say that Martyrs (2008), A Serbian Film, Cannibal Holocaust, etc. are far more disturbing in content. But I know some people that can watch all of these movies in a day no problem, if I did that it'd mess up my ability to sleep okay for weeks more than likely. As much as I hate to admit it.

And yes I've seen Cannibal Holocaust and no I don't need to see A Serbian Film. And Martyrs was disappointing. Coulda been great coulda been a modern day Psycho.

I have seen all the movies mentioned here by people. If you ask me August Underground's Mordum is by far more disturbing then all of them.
