What liquid Martha puts on her arms?

Closer to the end, after Helen gave birth and is lying on the bed bleeding, Martha sits on her vanity chair and puts some kind of clear liquid on her arms from a bottle. What stuff is that?

Rose water. Like a light cologne. To show that even after the messy delivery, and having to wash up, she was still a proper Southern lady. I thought it was a very nice touch.
