< Basically, what I'm trying to say is, if you're going to talk trash, talk trash that is actually valid to talk about.
Yeah, like how they couldn't even spring for some face paint to make the actor who played Shinnok actually LOOK LIKE SHINNOK!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear, he was the ONLY fighter I didn't recognize when I first saw this! -

Nostalgia Critic isn't even meant to be taken seriously. His critiques are on (get this) nostalgic movies that everybody likes or used to like (including him) and then ragging on the ridiculousness of what he's seeing on the screen. And most of the time he goes polar opposite of fan opinion. In the Mortal Kombat review he rags on Johnny Cage constantly when he was probably the most likeable character in the movies.
.
I don't follow him too often, but the only movie that he gave a favorable review for was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, of which he's such a die hard fan of it he probably couldn't rag on it no matter how hard he tried.

He also gave a positive review to
HOOK
. In that video, he implies that he usually focuses on bad movies. It makes sense. His reviews are 1/3 proper analysis and 2/3 making fun of specific moments in the movie. -

Jesus you guys. I thought the review was hilarious and so was the first one (even though I like it). Even if he did made some inconsistencies, he has TWO beep ups lists he has. And like someone said, NC isn't supposed to be taken seriously. He's a comedian first, not a true critic. And believe it not, he and his bros actually enjoyed this for it's badness. Don't believe me? Here's what his bro said

If I am not mistaken, didn't he complain that there was always a fight scene in a movie that is based on a fighting game? I think the biggest problem with the "Super Mario Brothers movie" was trying to make an actual believable story based on a game of a plumber stomping on mushrooms and turtles.
