Sadly, the only reason her character doesn't get romantic with the male hero is because he's black just like Julia Roberts didn't get romantic with Denzel Washington in
        The Pelican Brief

            me neither! hahaha
and I don't like gay stuff, either.
with the frequency Hollywood shoves it at us -
you'd think every other person was gay!
Oh - and of the 1 in 10 reported to be gay -
I believe 1 in 10 of those truly are.
the other 9 of 10 are just too lazy to work at a real relationship.
            my 2 cents.

              wow what a racist aregument.
about MA1600: there are such things as bi women.
about pelican brief: some people just dont hook up. also i think the seeing your boyfriend get blown up in a car bomb might put some sort of hinderance on your love life for a bit. Ok?
              now stop being prejudicial.

How is being in a gay relationship less work than what you call a "real" relationship?
You say that someone is so lazy that they simply do things they don't like because it is supposedly less work?
                wow

The Pelican Brief isn't a good example to use. The movie was vastly different from the book, down to the fact that in the book, Grey Grantham is white. Also, the book ends with the suggestion that Grey Grantham and Darby Shaw do end up romantically envolved.
No, Nina Chance isn't gay, you're just reading too much into it. It's nice to see a movie where the two lead characters don't end up in bed together, even one as mediocre as this one.

Julia Roberts said that she wanted to have a love scene with Denzel in the movie, but he said no. So there you go.

This is true. There was actually a love scene in this movie between the two characters and it was cut out. I just gave a presentation on this yesterday, lol.

Yes, there was a love scene filmed between the two. But Denzel cut out all the scenes involving him and a white actress because he felt it would alienate his white fanbase. Especially white males. Denzel knows white men have a hard time seeing white women with black men and he was becoming the biggest black actor of all time. He didn't wanna screw that up. Though I agree with him that racism does effect alot of "not all" white viewers opinions, I disagree with him to not shoot that kind of interracial romance. Because those bigoted people just need to GET OVER IT. White women sleep with black men. White men sleep with black women, and so on and so forth with every other race. To be "uncomfortable with it" speaks volumes to a persons ignorance and stupidity and racial prejudice.

I know I'm coming into this a bit late, but I found your comments quite interesting. When the Pelican Brief was filmed he still wasn't a major headlining actor. I just find it a little difficult to believe that if indeed a love scene was filmed between Julia Roberts and himself, Denzel was able to overule "A" list star Roberts and "A" list director Alan J. Pakula and get it cut out.
Are you able to better substantiate your claim?
Apart from that I agree with your end comments.

Does it matter? Whether she is or not is not pertinent to the story line.
