HOTEL CLERK: What do you mean by unusual?? Like I mean, 'DID THEY HAUL HIM OUT IN A BODY BAG? or maybe Amebic dysentery WHILE HE BUTT DRIBBLED ALL OVER THE LOBBY? That kind of unusual!!
Did anyone get annoyed by the fact that everyone that encountered the good doctor, waitresses, gay hotel clerks, or even possibly a wandering prostitute on the street corner would find him so (GDM) awesome that she would refuse to take his money?
I'm not knocking Stanley Kubrick but the script need a little more depth instead of every encounter with the Doc was as if they were star struck gnarly teen-age crush dude.
The subject matter was more than revealing to most of the straight everyday run of the mill citizens. I don't think that anyone had ever really had the guts to cover satanic people SRA, especially in a major motion picture.
I didn't like everything that Kubrick did but he was a master at it.
Apollo film footage; big ones Stanley, really big ones.
APOLLO FILM FOOTAGE: Big one's Stanley Kubrick, really BIG ONES!! -

This is you not getting the film.
It is cause it is an allegory of being a Hot shot Famous Doctor akin to A Shot Big Movie Star which is to What Tom Cruise really is. The Whole Story and Film is an underlying social Commentary of What Hollywood Hot Shots are really like taking shots at The Star, Tom Cruise.

People have said that Kubrick's attempt to reveal the truth of secret societies and the satanic lives that many of them lead. "If I told you the names of the people that were at the house you wouldn't believe it". At 2 hours and 39 minutes it's not a classic but it was the last film for Kubrick.

It really is a
movie. Keep the strong coffee hot. Tom Cruise was never that deep of an actor thinking back at top gun and his breakout role risky business. This movie was 1999 a bit over a decade past those deep works. Understandingly Working for Stanley K was too much to pass up for Cruise and the entire cast. The worst part of the whole movie was the dragging out of every scene no matter how simple, every scene was painfully slow. It really was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
