Yeah I was excited to see it for months, I saw it on opening night with a group of friends, we all left very disappointed. Dr. Jeckyll & Sister Hyde entertained me more than this one.

Really f8cking dull. Unattractive, uninteresting characters with lousy British accents dragging around on utterly fake looking sets. How can a movie about Jack the ripper be this boring ? I've started trying to watch it four or five times over 2 days and am still at the 25 minute mark, having watched scene after scene of fugly whores blathering on about 4 pounds.
Looked at the credits to see some kind of clue as to why it sucks, or if it could get better, and I saw."Hughes Brothers".
Aha yes that explains it.

I agree. Something was completely missing. I think there was a kind of twist hinted in it, such as
maybe it was all a dream/premonition
, it was dull and shallow. I live in the same area, White Chapel, Brick Lane with its Ripper tours, but it did not capture any mystery. Just some weird damn conspiracy theory. -

This movie wasn't the worst, but yeah Heather Graham being miscast I could have done without. I do like her in The Hangover, Austin Powers 2 and even Swingers; she was wasted here.
Goddamnit, man! You done made me hurt my dick hand. (Phone Booth, 2002) -

I gotta disagree. I still find it quite enjoyable. The visuals are fantastic and the atmosphere is downright depressing. It really fits in with the story. It's an interesting mystery. All historical liberties not withstanding.
So many stories, so little time. -

I thought that "
FROM HELL
" was an okay Movie but when it comes to Movies about "
JACK THE RIPPER
" overall, I myself actually like the one with Michael Caine.
I know that that one is considered to be a Mini-Series but I myself consider it to be just 1 BIG long Movie which I really liked. Heck, I still like it.
