Quite Possibly The Worst Movie Of All Time

I just finished watching again tonight, this time on cable. It's not that it's really bad, it's just in desperate need of having 45 minutes cut out of it.
The Madison Square Garden scenes just recycled the kitchen scene from JURASSIC PARK. The director's feud with Siskel and Ebert resulted in the annoying scenes with the mayor and his assistant. There was too much dialogue that was unintentionally funny, which is why it got so many Razzie awards.
This is a popcorn movie. It should have been fast paced and run just under an hour and a half. Remember the wise words of Mel Brooks: the maximum length of a movie should be about ninety minutes, because that's the longest any human being can stretch out one box or Raisinettes. -

I usually watch Godzilla movies in threes on a Saturday afternoon; yesterday it was Godzilla 98, Godzilla 2014 and Godzilla vs. Mothra 1964. My wife and I enjoyed all three.
At least they bothered with a somewhat original story line in Godzilla 98. I recently watched the latest, Shin Godzilla/Godzilla Resurgence and was honestly bored out of my mind. It looked great, but I felt like I was watching someone else playing a video game.
Apart from the cultural relevance of Godzilla 54, the rest have been entertainments with stories about as ridiculous as most James Bond movies; any excuse to get Godzilla on screen destroying a city or fighting off some other oversized monstrosity. The 1960s Godzilla movies were the most creative.
So, anyone out there who likes this one, even as a guilty pleasure, don't bother with nay-sayers. It's certainly not the best movie out there, but definitely not the worst either. Try watching it again as a popcorn movie and you won't be disappointed.

I was in High School when this Movie came out and I had been really excited about seeing this Movie for over a year (I am a BIG fan of "
GODZILLA
", I have been ever since I was a little kid) and when I finally saw it, I was so disappointed by it.
When it comes to Movies, that was 1 of the BIGGEST letdowns that I have ever seen. -
