Can someone with knowledge help? The plane that Jackie Chan's character arrives to Los Angeles in? Is a plane of that size able to carry sufficient fuel to make the 12+ hour trek across the pacific ocean without needing to refuel? I know larger planes do it all the time but was just curious if the much smaller planes had the ability to do it.

Short answer no. The plane in question seems to me to be a Bombardier Learjet which has a range of just over 3000 nautical miles (depending on head winds) but either way any plane that size cannot make that journey non stop. It's very likely that a private plane, thanks to Netjet or similar network, would be granted clearance to refuel at the Marshall and/or Hawaiian islands.

It could have been a two leg flight, never know. It could have been from Hong Kong to San Francisco and San Francisco to LAX. The short leg could be traveled by that plane.
