As a free country, they have the right to refuse service to anyone they want, which is what all private business should have, and I should know because I have worked in many privately owned businesses who did refuse service to people from time to time. This is not a government institution but rather a PRIVATE BUSINESS. The fact that you think we should FORCE businesses to serve ANYONE, regardless of the situation, proves you are way too far gone on this LGBT issue. The LGBT community SELECTED this bakery to get this attention and go after ANY business who refused them.
Yet again proof you liberals are much more like Nazis than you would ever admit. Would you also force a Muslim business to go against their religious beliefs? Never. You don't have anywhere NEAR the courage to do that. You treat Muslims like you do the LGBT community, like little children who need to be constantly coddled.

He said that the left FINALLY realizes that a person should not be FORCED to serve someone with whom they disagree. Designers don't want to make dresses for Melania. Singers don't want to perform for Trump. All well and good. But this concept of "freedom" of working for whom you choose did not occur to leftards when they insisted that Christian bakers make cakes for gay weddings.
Wow - you really need a public education if you think the two situations are even remotely the same. That Catholic education failed you miserably - sue the Catholic schools you went to, and show them how you can't comprehend differences in two situations.

Well, okey dokey, pvd you think you are SO smart, educate me on the difference!
People should not be forced to serve a client with whom they do not want to do business with, regardless of the reason.
It's okay with you, in fact you are THRILLED (as one can glean from your retardo childish posts) that designers won't dress Melania, singers won't perform at the Inauguration, etc. But a Christian won't bake for some Sodomites and that KILLS you!
Should A Muslim restaurant be forced to make BLT sandwiches for a church group who is having a picnic?
What is wrong with you? Why are acting like such an incoherent A@@? Why do you keep on insulting my "Catholic education"? Envy? Stupidity? Did mommy and daddy pull you out of private school because it was a waste of their hard earned $$ to try and educate a low I.Q. fool like you?

"Should A Muslim restaurant be forced to make BLT sandwiches for a church group who is having a picnic?"
Again, not the same thing. You're lousy at analogies. No one asked the baker to make something that wasn't on his menu or something that they weren't offering others. If a Muslim restaurant refused to serve Jews or Christians, yes they would be forced to - it's the law.
You're insulted by PVD bringing up your Catholicism, but have no problem questioning PVD's faith. I guess you don't see the hypocrisy.

People should not be forced to serve a client with whom they do not want to do business with, regardless of the reason.
So a born-again Christian who owns a bakery does not have to serve a Jewish person who stops in to buy a loaf of bread because they disagree with their religious beliefs?
A misogynist who owns a bakery can refuse service to a female customer who stops in to buy an apple pie because she's a woman?
A 55 year old who owns a bakery can refuse service to bake a wedding cake to a 20 year old couple because he feels their too young to get married?
A black cafe owner can refuse to serve a white man a cup of coffee because he doesn't like white people?
ARE YOU INSANE? Is this what your Catholic education taught you? Is this what you have gained from Christianity? I think you need to replace your 'moral compass'.
It's okay with you, in fact you are THRILLED (as one can glean from your retardo childish posts) that designers won't dress Melania, singers won't perform at the Inauguration, etc. But a Christian won't bake for some Sodomites and that KILLS you!
You really don't get it, do you?? You really don't understand the difference do you?
Should A Muslim restaurant be forced to make BLT sandwiches for a church group who is having a picnic?
If they already have BLT sandwiches on their menu - YES. If they don't offer BLT sandwiches on their menu, then NO.

Believe me, I know. She doesn't understand the whole "posting" method in which you can read through your post before you hit 'send'. She's too busy typing every nonsensical idea that pops into her head and randomly inserting emojis then to actually proof-read what she's posting.

Yes, I agree that a person shoud "read through" a post. In fact if YOU had actually done that in your latest post, you would have known it was "than to actually proofread"(it is one word, NOT hyphenated) and not "THEN to actually proof-read". emoji aert!!!

I applaud you on all points, pvd, and I went to Catholic elementary school. I'm no longer a practicing Catholic (I don't adhere to a single organized religion; I feel closest in spirit to Unitarianism because there's no dogma) but it's clear the Pope would not condone such intolerance. When people use religion to condemn others, the religion has failed them.

The issue here is that the Rockette Organization signed the contract to go to the inauguration. The individual dancers may despise Trump, and with good reason, but their employer made the deal. The dancers could get fired legally for not upholding their employment responsibilities, it is their job. If the entire Rockette Organization refused then it would be a totally different situation.

At this point, their performance will be tainted, regardless of which dancers choose to participate. It will be impossible for viewers to watch them without thinking of management's threatening memo to the dancers and their subsequent backing down over public outcry that the women were being made to perform for a leering, sexual predator. It's going to be a disgraceful inauguration and many Americans (including myself) won't stand on the wrong side of history by bothering to watch it.

This is very true. It's too bad the employer did not consult with the employees, since so many were involved, before he signed off on the contract.
However, if they are represented by a union (which I'm sure they are), I think individuals can opt out with union representation. Or, they can always 'call out sick' on the day of the performance - I doubt they can be penalized for that.

Hard to believe but I agree with pvd. Let the Rockettes who don't "wanna dance for Trump" back out. So what? No problem. Then he can have 'A Rockette' dance at the Inauguration.
All that matters is that they are dancing for a TRUMP Inauguration and not a HILLARY one. I don't care who performs. It is a tempest in a teapot. Just SO HAPPY beyond words that the evil woman in a pantsuit has been relegated to the ash heap of history. I would not CARE if the Muppets performed for Trump. Who cares? We have wrested our Republic away from the evil clutches of Mrs. Bill Clinton. DANCE on Rockette!! Don't care if it is ONE Rockette alone, it's enough to drive the leftards and Rachel Maddow crazy!

A rational voice speaks up amid a sea of left-wing insanity -
A well-respected veteran Rockette is urging members of the famed dance troupe to put politics aside and do what they do best by kicking up a storm at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
The only thing the Rockettes should be focused on is performing for our nation and helping unite us all with the joy, love, beauty and strength for which they are famous, says Patty DeCarlo Grantham, a retired member of the world-famous troupe.
Grantham, president of the 552-member Rockette Alumnae Association, says she cringed when controversy erupted last week over plans to have the Radio City Music Hall dancers perform during the festivities surrounding Trumps Jan. 20 swearing-in.
Grantham was specifically upset over ex-Rockette Autumn Withers urging the troupe, famed for their high-kicking in unison, to boycott the inaugural.
We are all aware how contentious this election has been for our country, Grantham wrote in an email to the Madison Square Garden Co., which owns Radio City.
She also wanted MSG owner James Dolan to know that in no way does Ms. Withers opinions reflect the opinion of the Rockette Alumnae Association.
Like the millions of people who are true Rockette fans, we cannot wait to see the Rockettes proudly strut their stuff for the upcoming inauguration of the President of the United States of America.
                                    Bravo, Ms. Grantham.
