There was a post were some said he was and some said no. Where in the movie does it say he is guilty, since I thought he was innocent.

I think that's one of the plot points of the movie, is that we're never given the chance to find out.

If he was innocent than what the heck was one of his mechanics doing with a grenade?!

Ask the mechanic. If one of my employees commits a crime, that shouldn't automatically condemn everyone in the business. The police would be in their rights to bring everyone in for questioning, but Tariq was brought in and tortured to death.

I guess. Just because one person is a terrorist who works in a mechanic shop, just like any other place of business, does not mean others are likely, but it is possible.

We dont know that. But he had the right to have a TRIAL for his crimes. Or else why bother having a legal system and just look for retribution ourselves and put a nuke in Mecca during the Ramadan.

The point was that it didn't matter if he was guilty or not, the terrorist had already won because of how the americans were approaching the problem; i.e. torture. Like Denzel says, he doesn't know who the cells are, yet they torture and murder him anyway, so the evil aparatus has already taken a on a life of it's own. That, beside the point that he had a right to fair trail and all.

Ya know I just don't buy the notion that the terrorists win just because we are scared or whatever. Of course we are, it's fight or flight. I hope it never comes to martial law but if it does, it does.
It's never really win or lose, just a constant flux of different states of readiness, action, etc.

He tried to bomb people and you think he is innocent?
