Without his wife, Artie would be up to his eyeballs in debt with the mob, bankrupt, and possibly dead. She was the one who stopped him from accepting “gifts” from Tony and stopped them from busting out the restaurant.

Tony didn’t really do anything for Artie except make his life a living hell.
Tony got to eat for free at his restaurant and even conned Artie into wiping his tab after Artie fell in debt to Tony through a scam.
The only thing Tony helped Artie with was stopping other mobsters from killing him whenever Artie tried to fit in and pretend to be a wiseguy

That bothers me too.
And Artie was such a douche.
Not just to murdering the rabbit but to always be hovering around the customers bothering them.
And he gets all bent out of shape when there is a better restaurant that opens up.
