It is obvious that we are both going to be stubborn with our viewpoints on this and are not going to change them so the only way to settle this is to agree to disagree.
I seriously doubt the embassy and military would have turned it's back on rescuing two lost Americans on an island of an ally.
Of course they do for the movie so that we can get our adventure movie.

The other thing that bugs me is that, just like in all other movies, the non red shirts get all the time in the world to get out of the dangerous situation even with villain dinos surrounding them.
lol errr what? How did any of them have any time to escape? -

The main characters played by the bigger stars will of course live to the end even when the odds are against them while the non main ones are dino chow.
See JP1 where Rex just bumps it's head against the side of the jeep instead of grabbing someone out of it.

That is because they were keeping still and it could not see them, it could not really see the car either as it was not moving, bumping its head on the side was it being curious about this weird object that it has never smelt before. They cover all of this in the movie that I dont think you actually watched properly lol -

But lots of people died in JP1 that were not red shirts?
Muldoon
Nedry
Gennaro
were all characters with flesh out personalities. Muldoon was the surly and cautious game warden who had a specific hatred for the Raptors, Nedry was the fat greedy nerd who put peoples lifes at risk for money and Gennaro was a greedy man who changed his tune when he realised just how much money could be made.
But yeah, the mercs in JP 3 were very much red shirts wrote in so the film could meet its kill quota while protecting the more well know actors.
And this is one of the many reasons why JP1 is considered a cinematic master piece yet every other JP film after range from
meh
to
Ewwww
Thanks for starting this thread btw, I dont often get the chance to discuss my most loved movie these days -

when you said bumping its head rather than pulling them out, did you mean when it was chasing the RED jeep? because yeah, i always thought it was stupid that it did that rather than try and grab the humans in the open top car.

oh my bad, I thought you ment the red shirts get all the time to escape lol I didnt read it properly.
But yeah ur right, even when they killed off a main character, they didnt actually kill him off lol ( Billy )
This is why I do not watch that Camp cartoon on netflix even tho it is cannon, because as the main stars are teenagers i know for a fact they will never die, no matter how dire the situation.
Just ONCE i wanna see an R rated JP film with no kids who are obviously gunna survive. -

They killed red shirt Michael Jeter last because he was the most well known character actor in the small parts.
Just for the record, Jeters character was supposed to die right after the plane crashed and Nash, the big black guy, was supposed to die the death that Jeter had. in fact he was supposed to make a last stand and pick up a big stick and fight the raptors before they eventually killed him, but they changed it because Bruce Young ( Nash ) had other **** to do.
