    Hellboy
    and
    Hellboy II: The Golden Army
    are the
best movie adaptations of comic books
    that I know.
For me, they're right up there with the likes of The Punisher, The Mask, Batman Begins, Dredd, etc.
I personally think that these wonderful adaptations are
    criminally under-appreciated
    . What do you think?
Beauty, like art, cinema and music, is subjective. It is not objective.

I'd say it is one of the best, in terms of capturing the look and feel of the book, while adapting it to another medium. Rocketeer is up there, for the same reasons. The first Superman adapts the character extremely well, as he was written at that time and through most of his history. Iron Man does a pretty darn good job, though they tweaked the personality of Tony Stark, a lot, to match Downey's.
"Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!"

One of the best. But I wouldn't call it "the" best.
            Can't stop the signal.
