    Hi,
Several times, talking with people, they do not remember that the army soldier shot him.
DESPITE THE FACT THAT THERE IS THIS SCENE, WITH THIS GUY ALL COVERED IN BLOOD AND A GUN LACKING IN THE CABINET.
Even so, I've seen the movie two times, and it happens to me, after several year, I didn't remember who had killed him, if it had been his wife or the soldier, then I watched those scenes again and wondered why I couldn't remember it if it was so obvious
    Thoughts?

Point of movie is there are 4 people who seem to want to kill him all for no good reason [or maybe Brad as well] but to Lester it don't matter a twig as he IS deaded - end of section.
But I did a CSI on this case - see below

I didn't remember. I thought Lester killed himself. His wife and daughter seemed to hate him and he could never have Angela. He knew it.

He definitely COULD have Angela - she clearly offered herself to him - but then he felt guilty when she told him she was a virgin, so he decide not to go through with it.
Afterward, when Angela asks Lester how he was doing, he replied that he was "great", remembering how much he really loved Carolyn and Jane; they may have been upset with him, but they didn't really hate him.

Basically the movie develops quite a bit more why the wife wanted to shoot him, and it definitely shows her preparing to do so, more than why the colonel would. The wife is also a more prominent character in general and the movie is more about her and Lester's estrangement (although Lester becomes pretty chill about it) so you expect and maybe even remember that she was also prominent in the climax.

              Yeah.., definitely. That's the reason.
              Thumbs up!

I myself had forgotten that the film went so far as to show Carolyn outside hearing and reacting to the gunshot, I had misremembered that it was more ambiguous or at least it was unclear until we later saw blood on Frank.
