How did the series end? (spoiler)

A flat 25 for the five DVDs I've got of it. Actually, I have six, but I like the first one. 30 if you want that one as well, I think it was the best of the series, that includes postage. Email me or something for the UK, for outside of UK extra postage might be added. But yeah.
I watched the ending yesterday, and I was very disappointed. When Shang Tsung told Kung Lao he would defend earth realm, as "it has become my home," I was expecting him to join up with the goodies, and there would be an EPIC ASS battle at the end, where obviously good would triumph over evil.
How did it end? Bunch of people surround the three goodies. Raiden is brought before Shao Khan. He lists how all of them are dead. Raiden bows to him.
Forgive me for saying so, but WHAT THE HELL? It was too damn abrupt! There WAS no final battle! The fight with Raiden vs Shao Khan was pretty cool, given, but cmon, Kung Lao's been training his entire life for it, and he just gets killed without so much as raising a fist. The series was decent, the fight scenes were repetitive, the rampant lesbianism and playbot stars and people trying and failing like a man with no legs taking on a hurdle, really annoyed me after a while, but the series was solid, Paolo was great, Bernhardt even more so. It should have ended much more gloriously than it did.
I know it's cliche and stuff for the goodies to always win, if they'd have fought for their lives, it would have been ok, but the way it happened just really sucked, especially after the 6 DVD build up to it happening
It's like running a marathon and getting cramp in your leg 6 steps from the finish and dying from the shock
It was tragic. Funny how I watched Easy Rider just before it, and suffered a similar ending
Yesterday was just not a good day for plot. -

I also bought the DVD's. Never seen the series before but have seen the other films. This really sucked. The ending in particular Not because the evil wins and so forth, but if Shao Khan had the ability to send his immortals after all his enemies, why didn't he do it in the first episode. Like it is, there wasn't much point for the series, for Shao Khan only needed the portal open and he could kill anyone he wanted, so why wait an entire season for that.
By the way, Don't buy the DVD's. The episodes are in the wrong order and not all of them are on it, so it is very confusing to watch. -

(Major Spolier)
It ended pretty rushed I thought, and not to the liking of the fans.
Everyone pretty much got killed off within a few scenes, but really rushed I thought and then, the 3 mainstream charactors didnt even have anything to do with the final scene of the series. They all just get killed by Shoa Kahns shadow priests, and Raydon gets suckered into the Outworld and becomes Shoa Khans latest slave.
But, what threw me was Shoa Kahn kills everyone Kung Lao, who as said was supposedly killed by Goro. Shang Tsung, who obviosly returns in future. Quan Chi, who is going to be apart of MK3 when the movies done next year.
But, I guess they had plans to do a second season because Kung Lao would have to come back to life somehow, Raison obviosly escapes outworld 'cos he's in MK1, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi obviosly return somehow oh. and reptile (unless its another reptile for the movie)it would have been interesting to see how they came back.
Plus, there where a few things that where still left un-anserwed in the series such as the OTHER lin kweigh ninja, Smoke, who they summen to track down Sub Zero. Shang Tsungs trainer was released again by Omegis from his cavern grave thing and she asks for his help, but that was the end of those stories. Noob Saibot was never finsihed off (tho he may have not supposed to have been) -

A) The show was cancelled prematurely. The Elder Gods were suppose to bring everyone back because Shao Kahn broke the rules.
B) The series was suppose to end with another Mortal Kombat tournament. Where Goro enters, kills Kung lao and beings his 500 year reign as champion.
C) Shao Kahn never directly sent his servants to kill Kung Lao.- Shang Tsung often organized the botched assassination attempts (not being bound by the laws of the Elder Gods)
- Kung Lao, Siro and Taja often provoked attacks from parties who do not work for Kahn (eg, Black Dragon, Lin Kuei, Scorpions clan, Quan Chi, Kreeya).
- Shao Kahn often payed other parties to attack and kill Kung Lao. Therefore using a small "loophole". (With the probable exception of Mileena and Rain).
