Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return

    ricky-may1 — 14 years ago(March 11, 2012 08:24 AM)

This is the true sequel to the original it blows all the others out of the water. it should have wiped all the others out cause the first and this one are both classics! John Franklin makes another great performance as Isaac, and Paul Popowich delievers a menacing performance as the leader of the children Gabriel.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. I am sorry to say this is my second least favorite in the series (Genesis is the worst). I did like seeing John Franklin again because Isaac is one of the best horror characters of all time. I also liked that Nancy Allen was in this and Hannah seemed likable enough. But overall the story was dull and confusing to me. I wanted to like it because it was Isaac's return, but it was just lacking something for me.

To each his own, but I agree with the original poster. The film certainly wasn't five stars and could have had the extra "something" that was missing, but I think it did more for the COTC series than the other sequels. It managed to tie things together. I just wish they had continued from this story line in the next movie. The other sequels seemed to digress big time (with the exception of COTC 2). Just out of curiosity, which sequel do you like better?

My absolute favorite of the sequels is Part 3, but if I had to choose between Isaac's Return and Part 2, I think I'd choose Part 2. I wanted to like Isaac's Return very much, but as you said it felt like something was missing.

I don't think I've seen that one so I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

The original is my favorite, but I think I like this one more than the other sequels I've seen, though it's been a while. I have yet to see 4, 5, and 8.

I gave Genesis a second chance and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was the first time I watched it. This one is now my least favorite.
