I AM A COTC FANATIC!!!!!
I love the first film and the 6th one because they both follow the same story line.
The sequels in between go off on their own path.
So the actor John Franklin who plays Isaac in the first film and the 6th one helped write the script for COTC 666.
This film ties back in with the first ones story line and plot. I've seen ever COTC film and there are 7.
The first one and the 6th one are the only ones that really make sense with Stephen King's orignal story. If you liked the first film read the short story in Stephen King's book called Night Shift. The short story goes into more detail and give you more background on the corn kiddies.
So I would tell you that yes it's worth watching if not for the movie for the splendid job that John Franklin gives to the role of Isaac.

In all honesty, the second one followed #1 although it didn't take place in the same town. So did 3, since it followed 2, and 5, since it followed 3. Then 6 ignored that and went back to mentioning more about the first film and was ignored in the seventh, but I still think that since they all had moments in Gatlin and had He Who Walks Behind the Rows mentions, plus kids who get older and older throughout the series, they are all related, although the 6th one made no mention of any of them besides the first. 4 and 7 are only very slightly connected. But anyway, 6 is the only one to be directly connected with the first one's story, i guess.

I've been a fan of the series since the second one came out and I discovered the first one. Of course the original will always be a favorite with #2 and #6 as my favorite of the sequels. I own the entire series on tape and from what I heard a remake is in the making(God I hope not), but I say its worth seeing if you want to see what happened to Isaac and the surviving children of Gatlin.

This sequel rides off of the wave that we had in the late 90's, where in the horror genre we saw some big returns of original characters to a sequel. Jamie Lee Curtis returned to HALLOWEEN and Amy Irving came back for CARRIE 2, so why not Isaac? His presence is really the only thing awsome about this one. If he hadn't been in it, it would have just been a really bad movie. It's not the best of the sequels, but it's one of the better ones because of him.
