The only ones I know that hate it never have a sense of humor to speak of about anything.

The only Star Trek fans I've known to dislike GQ are also those who like to fight the Trekkie Vs Trekker crap. Fighting over a name for people who like the same thing pretty much sums up the mentality.
They tend to feel what they believe and what they like is superior, and take everything including themselves far too seriously.
Everyone else loves the film. -

I just want to say, thank you to everyone who responded to this post.
I'm not friends with the person I was talking about, who hated Galaxy Quest, anymore. She was a very strange person. As are we all, I guess.
One thing about her was that she was very self-obsessed and she had a lot of horrible problems caused by horrible things that had happened to her. How that made her hate Galaxy Quest, I don't know. I wonder if she ever changed. She was only 20 when I knew her. -

What exactly qualifies you for being a "Trekkie" or "Hardcore Trekkie", anyway ?
Well, wether I'm a "Trekkie" or not, I wouldnt know why even the most hardcore fan wouldnt love this movie. Yes it pokes fun at Star Trek, but it is also a great Star Trek episode in itself.
