Do you still respect Travolta (after watching this film?)

I don't respect him at all. I actually respected him because he was so cool in Staying Alive but now I have no respect for him.
Seriously, your "respect" is dependent on the roles on actor plays? I don't know Travolta personally, so I have no opinion on respecting him (although what I know of his dealings with women, he seems like a great guy: a widower who found love again; I never hear about him running around or anything). He seems like a nice fellow someone you could shoot the breeze with. Other than that, I've got no info on whether or not to respect him.
If you simply mean "respecting his acting choices", well, he's certainly had his ups and downs, but for the most part, I'm happy to see him on the screen.

I dont know him, and I dont follow his films but at least he stood up for something he believed in. I'm not talking about religion but he wanted to adapt the novel and sticked to doing this movie although all the controversy and limitations it had.

Definitely. He's one of my favorite actors, and I liked his performance in this film, too.

Every single movie star (and I really do mean every single one of them) has been in a terrible movie, or turned in a terrible performance at least once in their career. Every. Single. One.
The vast majority of them are into really stupid religions and spirituality as well. Not respecting an actor/actress because of one bad movie and their personal life choices is asinine
