What's wrong with blackface?

A french soccer star got into hot water for dressing up as a member of the harlem globe trotters for a FD party, he had a fake afro, and he litterally covered himself in black body paint, head 2 toe. Google it, it was ****ing hilarious.
But im wondering, if he had stooped at the afro, would it have been an issue? -

but dressing up as a black person because you admire them is surely a positive thing.
The
only true way
of admiring a person is when you experience their daily struggles in life or something they've experienced, and you understand the hardhips of being that person or the hardships of being part of their culture.
If you haven't experienced that, then pretending to be like that person or imitating their likiness, is clearly a superfical act and means very little as far as I'm concerned. -

The only benefit for me would be watching that person in blackface experience the everyday hardships of being a black person in soceity. Therefore, they'd have to make a convincing costume and completely be in character. When I see you struggle the way we do, and watch you overcome those adversities and our adversaries, then we'll talk more about this issue.

Like I said before, experience real life as a black person first,
If I'm a white person, you must know that would be an impossibility.
Completely experiencing life as anyone other than myself would be an impossibility.
All that I would be capable of is to try to get to know, understand, and respect a person and their situation.
As for the question,
What's wrong with blackface?
From my point of view, it makes that person in blackface look ridiculous on so many levels, and I'm not just talking about the makeup.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Even after your speech, I still don't believe you understand what this topic is really about or my opinion either. And guess what? I have no desire to discuss this issue with you any longer. Goodbye Margo.

I'll accept that you don't care to discuss it with me, but the only way for me to even begin to understand what you are trying to convey is discussion.
This, however, is not the place. This is a little movie site known as
Filmboards
.
You are obviously on a fishing expedition. Good luck in reeling in someone to argue with. Goodbye.
