That's where my mind went, to be honest, that Tucker could be home with NoahI don't know, be his dad?
It was a selfish, stupid move on the part of the writers. The whole 'rise from the ashes' 'single woman, don't need no man!' crap is beyond done to death.

I agree Tucker could be home with Noah, since she a 24/7 on call detective. That's why the judge just giving her a kid was stupid.

She stalked her way into getting that baby.
And since it's all but been declared Hargitay runs the show, everything is going the way she wants it to.

draftdubya, I don't think that Tucker looks to be the part of a stay at home nanny? Somehow I highly doubt that would be a role Ed Tucker would look forward to even if it meant staying with Olivia. Something struck me odd last week watching the break up scene. Tucker pretty much didn't put up any fight to try to,try and sway her or suggest they just take a step back and see where things go with his retiring but instead he exited the apartment and probably had visions of fishing and hunting trips already lined up, not playground duty. What happened to Lucy? Guess she's done with school and has a much better paying job than what Liv was paying her. If their hook ups were mostly at night after she put Noah to bed may have weighed on her mind with feeling guilty, baby sitter costs etc. I don't know but Tucker even seem to realize her son needs to be her number one focus. I've never been a fan of their relationship but that scene last week was lame.

Right? Like is that some kind of problem?
He and Olivia both seemed to think so, for no apparent reason at all. I did watch and it was even worse than I was expecting. Case of the week was a dud, too.
Well, I guess that's that, this isn't a slump. It's dead, it's just being kept on minimal life support.

The whole thing is spiraling down to less than meh, and they're trying to drag it out a little longer by tossing huge gaps into the air dates to keep it going until summer.

I know, i'm not even watching every episode anymore. I tend to dodge it the night it airs. Then the night after, i'll watch it online after seeing if anyone who watched it, mentioned anything positive about it lol. If I see complaints about how the episode focused solely on Benson's life, I won't watch it.

I usually see it Thursday mornings on Hulu, gives me something to half listen to while I make tea and wake up.

That's what she gets for being big bossy pants executive producer. If the show goes downhill and people complain about the crap stories..mostly about Bensonits all on her. It happened on her watch because she put herself out there front and center for every episode and the publicpuked. She'll have to own it.

                          Call me weird, but I
                          liked
the Olivia/Tucker relationship. I was annoyed when they broke up.
                          Really
                          annoyed.
I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?

I liked the match too. I thought she was finally going to mature and make a nice home for Noah, but they just WONT take her ass out of the dating pool. We're solo tired of her"illicit" affairs.

I liked it too. I thought he was a very suitable match. They had a great deal in common and seemed at ease and natural with each other.

Maybe I was watching a different show, based on the responses here. He made it clear that BOTH of them needed to retire, and Liv is so not ready to stop being a cop. Just because he is at a place mentally to put down the shield, does not mean she is ready also.

Well actually, Tucker thought he might go ahead and retire and he just suggested she consider that too. That's why the thread asks why she freaked out. Tucker just thought he was making a suggestion that she might consider so they would have time together and more for Noahand she FREAKED at the mention and basically decided to end it with him right then. Pretty violent reaction to him saying something that at his age and time put in would not be entirely unexpected.

Not right then, she did think about it while looking for Theo and shooting the bad guy and splattering blood on Carisi. That made up her mind to stay on the force.
The way I heard it, he really wanted it to be a package deal. The original poster said it didn't affect her in any way. Well, her retiring when she wasn't even thinking about it certainly would affect her.
Would he stay with her if he retired and she didn't? I don't know. He certainly thought the job would get to her, if she stayed in any longer. Maybe she read it the same way I did, that it was a make or break moment for their relationship. It appears he would be pressuring her hard to retire, if they stayed a couple.

I meant you could tell by her over the top reaction, she would choose the job over Tucker. She keeps saying how Noah is her priority and yet when Tucker suggested a way to spend more time with him, and she and Tucker have time for their relationship too, she rejected it all.

Oh I'm not surprised at all because this the Benson MO. I've said it before, when she came back from Paris in the first episode this season without a ring on her finger I knewhere we go again. This thing with Tucker was a real bred herring this time. It actually looked like they had a future and Olivia could go into a more mature, respectable phase in her life. But nooo! Its time for Olivia to pour scotch down some new guys throat, listen to him pour out his problems, tell him she understands, roll in the sack with him, and proceed to sexually manipulate him while convincing him she "has his back" and she's the only one he can trust now because they're banging and she will keep the secret because they're "good friends" now. I'm not surprised at all.
