cuz dudes say that he's not black but not that many dudes but you know the type but there's techno music but a lot of people dancing but if he was in the movie people could relate black to dancing even if it was techno music.
reeves is my favorite actor but when i heard that will smith was designed to star in the matrix it's like i had their vision. it would have been so cool. the way he fights it's dancing like he was even in ali for whatever that's worth but did you see what he made his kid do in karate kid? i don't think jayden liked all that jumping around in that excessiveness but it sure was cool. the stuff reeves did well smith could do cuz it was more for smith but there are things he would have needed will smith support just to understand how to interpret. like the dancing. like how could he even play off the cast to make that connection. and then the love story, will smith is probably the only big name in hollywood that could make it good by representing that the antagonism to fuel the will was there (cuz he has it in spades) but you would see it interpersonally off screen and i'm not capable of seeing it interpsonally on screen
but then again reeves made it good cuz people loved that story cuz it wouldn't be materializable and that intensity scares people. so make the love story not fit you aquit the fear. the way the matrix is it was designed to not work and it still works well enough but i think will smith was the guy that could have saved the whole story, maybe literally. i mean really imagine it through he probably literally could have saved the whole thing but the reason it was so huge with keanu is cuz he knew that nonfunctional with that intensity of love would be eaten up but it's not going to get fully digested dollars make sense but smith still puts people in the chair and even though the series may have been less profitable it would have been more timeless and maybe the gap could have been closed with that additional risidual effect
edit: i am unsure if i have already said this or not in a matrix forum at some point so if so you have my apologize but yeah will smith would have really been sensaional here. -

Yup. Funnily, Jada Pinkett Smith, Smith's wife, was also semi-cast as Trinity. She went through 2 weeks of training but didn't click with Keanu so they dropped her, but the Wachowskis wrote a role (Niobe) specifically for her for the sequels.
