This movie is pretty brilliant. I have no idea what it got pitched as to be made or marketed as but it is basically a very self-aware and cynical depiction of an interesting era when the millenial generation first got noticed by marketers - I was in it at the time working on a project for P&G that was supposed to 'harness the power of Gen Y dollars.' I love all the cameos and inside jokes and the music is weirdly good, too. If there were still zines like Cahiers du Cinema today, this movie would be rediscovered and lauded.
