I wouldn't say
"a lot"
of cops have gotten a free pass, maybe a few. But remember, it's not you or me facing a perp in the middle of the night who's reaching into his waistband.
It's the cop, and he sometimes has to make
a life or death decision
in about 1 or 2 seconds. And WAY more cops have been killed than perps!

Not a lot, true, but I'm talking about when several cops piled up on Kelly Thomas and ended up killing him for no other reason than he was a mentally ill man who was scared
Apparently, these cops had never been trained on how to deal with the mentally ill and beat him to death
They're no longer cops but they didn't do time

I don't like it when
anyone
is killed. But in the case of Kelly Thomas, they didn't kill on purpose. It was an accident, and due to poor training of the cops. And you know, some of the cops might have been scared too.

admitting tnat you were WORKING OUT around the time someone was MURDERED is about one of the worst things to say. What's to stop Investigators from thinking you were WORKING OUT in order to get stronger in order to kill someone more easily?
Great point, Kentry.
