I think the future of the live anime remakes lies in the hands of the creators of Cowboy Bebop (assuming it doesn't get canned during pre-production). If that movie works you could see a wave of anime movies not unlike the wave of superhero movies after the massive success stories of Raimi's Spider-Man and Nolan's Batman franchises.

After seeing the series here's what I think would work:
Vash: Josh Hutcherson (Plays both comedic and action roles, yep, he fits) or Chris Hemsworth (Right age and a big badass)
      Knives: Christian Bale (Enough said)
Meryl: Olivia Wilde (She was fantastic as Quorra in Tron Legacy; she also fits the bill for Meryl)
Milly: Dianna Agron (Having popular TV actresses never hurt)
Wolfwood: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Judging from his character in Inception, Wolfwood's a perfect match for him)
Legato: Cillian Murphy (Creepy as hell in Red Eye and Batman Begins)
Chapel: Christopher Lloyd (Definitely could work there after seeing Roger Rabbit)
Directed by: The Coen Brothers, Robert Rodriguez, or myself, lol

Drownbunny, the fact that your entire opening description is one long run-on sentence leads me to question your writing skills. Unless English isn't your native language you should have no excuse as to why you would call yourself a writer and disgrace the English language like this in the same post.

The op was written in 2007. I seriously doubt it that the author will come back and read your pot that has got nothing to do with the subject anyways.

              I'm here. 😄 I just haven't gotten to creating a new thread. 😄
I LOVE this show. i love Vash and Wolfwood and even Millie and Meryl. Terrific show!
That said, I have to add that I am not the least bit interested in a live action movie. Let the flames begin. ;D

Don't worry MrsSpooky I am not interested in a live action film either Some animes might work well in live action. I don't believe Trigun is one of themSo have you seen the movie Badlands Rumble yet? I have my copy on preorder. Won't arrive until a month from now.. What is some of your favorite episodes?
                Have a nice Day 🙂

I haven't seen Badlands Rumble yet, but I too have it on preorder! Can't wait for more Vash. 😄
Some of my favorite episodes? That's a hard one.
                  Peacemaker
                  Hard Puncher
                  LOST JULY.
I love B.D.N. (and the followup) because B.D.N. is voiced by Unsho Ishizuka who played Jet in Cowboy Bebop. It was weird hearing him play a bad guy.
Murder Machine, 'cause we get to meet Wolfwood.
Diablo, 'cause Vash is just. scary.
                  Demon's Eye
                  THE FIFTH MOON
                  Rem Saverem
                  I also really liked Sin.
Heck, I love ALL of them, but those, especially Lost July and The Fifth Moon I tend to watch over and over again. How about you?

After watching the series here is my two cents:
Vash: Armie Hammer (right age, right hair and eyes, right build, can do drama and comedy and would be great to see him go over the top)
Knives: Armie Hammer (Have same actor play the two roles to emphasize how similar but different they are and Hammer has experience playing two brothers)
Meryl: Emma Rossum (What can I say? She is too underused and has just the right combination swagger, looks, and talent to pull off Meryl)
Milly: Judy Greer(Right look, a very joyous and kind demeanor, maybe a bit old but looks young)
Wolfwood: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Have to agree, having seen Inception he definitely fits the bill) Or James Wolk (has the handsome kind boyish face but can turn in a second and be cut throat)
Legato: Cillian Murphy (Creepy as hell in Red Eye and Batman Begins)
Chapel: Christopher Lloyd (Definitely could work there after seeing Roger Rabbit)
