What I find amusing about this film is that everyone except the nun seems to be an atheist. What kind of upside-down Bizarro world is this?
I'm an atheist but only about 10 percent of the American public seems to share my worldview.
Yet Kevin Costner has to hunt all over the city just to find one nun who fearfully reveals that she believes in an afterlife!

And she wasn't even a nun in the original script, that was an addition from David Seltzer's rewrite. In the Camp/Thompson script,
      he
      was an aging paranormal investigator.

He doesn't have to hunt all over the city to find one nun who fearfully reaveals she believes in an afterlifethats a bit wrong.
What actually happens is he hears aboutwithout asking about a nun who believes in the afterlifewhen he's at the hospital ttalking to the kids, a nurse tells him about the nun because she got in trouble for asking questions about the kids near death experiences.
So in actual fact, someone told him about her, before he was OVERLY spooked just when he was curious, then he went to the place she works looking for her after asking where she works. He wasn't looking for A nun, he was looking for HER, after being told about her without asking.

The easy way out is to believe anything you are told by anyone and not question what they say.
