the wife was way hotter than the mistress. i think they shoulda swapped em to make the affair look more appealing visually it woulda gave it more plausibility IMO

Oh dear.
Rachael Blake (the mistress) is actually very attractive - but she wasn't at her best in this picture, perhaps for a reason
It is often the case that married men will cheat on their wives with women who are far less attractive (by conventional standards at least). What men are often looking for (so I'm led to believe) is someone who pays them attention and makes them feel special, so it usually has very little to do with looks.
