      Sad?
Well maybe when Patrick died. All he wanted was the jewel; they didn't have to kill him off. I say kill the lady cop, Michael Douglas can have his little daughter, and Sean Bean can go away happy with his hard earned prize. The end, credits roll.
It wasn't that sad of a movie

I don't think that's the sad part they were talking about (her dad getting hit by the train). The little girl (Elizabeth) was the sad part. She didn't know her dad was a bad guy. He wasn't a bad guy to herhe was her dad. The only person that she had. The only person she cared about. And she had to watch him get hit by a train which probably wasn't very pleasant. That's the sad part.

I think probably seing her Dad beaten up by Bean and his cronies would have been traumatic enough. Would have been better if he'd been electrocuted on the rails, struggling to climb out and THEN the train comes. At least part of an arm might have remained intact, sliding across the station floor to where the girl was hiding. And why was there no blood?
Jeez, I'm one twisted puppy. But no, this film is not sad or bad. Murphy's mental patient made me mad but the only thing ruining this picture for me were that and the plotholes.

Well, Patrick was suppose to be the bad guy. Of course you can't feel sympathy that much for him, (I totally just might be contradicting myself), considering he killed the old lady and whatnot. I don't really care that much, as it was just a movie.
I like bad guys, I like good guys. I was sad to see Sean Bean's character die, but then again I'm used to it because he dies in practically everything. It was a touching moment when Michael Douglas' character's family was reunited, and I was happy to see that Brittney Murphy's character was accepted into their lives.
I didn't cry during this movie- only suffered temporary greif that Sean Bean died, once again. Believe me, it was extremely temporary.

no sad part for me (which is weird bec i am usu very "film sensitive"). maybe it should have been very sad bec a little girl loses daddy, but come on! the little actress couldn't make it that touchy. and the dadit wasn't like he was a saint, he did steal that jewel.
curious-how does anyone know that elizabeth gets "accepted into their lives"? just bec she goes to that family does that mean they'll take a nearly complete stranger to go live with them?
-this is one of my fav films ever, though douglas seemed a little 2 old-

But just imagine what its like to be buried alive. That must be the scariest thing ever knowing that you're still alive and there is no way for you to get out. I would even kill myself with anything i have handy.
Oh and also why does Michael Douglas always have young partners. The guy is like 40!!

Hmm, well.. let's see what we have here. Some soil, that's no good. Maybe this twig pokes himself in eye with twig not exactly fatal. A-ha! The diamond that I still say is a ruby! swallows Yep, that does it! dies
I wouldn't say being buried alive is the scariest thing, unless you're inside a coffin which Bean wasn't. I doubt he'd be alive for long enough to ponder the cruelness of fate and stuff. But being trapped in a coffin (like the Bride in "Kill Bill: Vol. 2") is probably worse because the time it takes to die is so much greater. I also imagine drowning being quite a nasty way to go, all the panic and adrenaline working against each other for no effect.
Nothing, of course, could top being caught underneath a combine harvester and having your entrails spat out the back. But still

Actually he's like 60. Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt are 40. Funny how time flies.

Sad that a girl had to watch her father get killed. Yes, that is sad. But the only thing that nearly brought me to tears is that Patrick Koster had to die. Um..no, I take that back. Because the casting of Conrad was also sad. I actually like Michael Douglas. I really do. But this role was all wrong. Sean Bean could've taken him at any moment in that last fight. And despite the fact that he was a bad guy, the line that Patrick spoke about killing the man that took his little girl gave me goose bumps.
Sean would've been much more believable as Nathan Conrad. But he was good as Koster, too. Stillhe didn't have to die. Geez. I'm so tired of watching Sean Bean die at the end of his movies.

This movie wasn't sad at all, in my opinion. Especially the part where her dad died. It had to have been one of the clumsiest scenes in a movie I've seen in a while. First off her dad was a hustler, so it's not like he was a saint. Second, it was just a really really dumb way to knock someone off so it kinda made me chuckle. To each their own, I just didn't find this movie sad. Bad, maybe, not sad.
So just because he was a hustler his death wasn't sad? It's like saying "Oh well, he was a hustler, he deserved it"..
