For me, it's when Jeff, who is deathly afraid of the dark, runs through the tunnel as the darkness "chases" him as the lights turn off one by one.
These kids today, with their hula hoops and fax machines.

That's a pretty good one, but I think my favorite is when Hank is in the tunnel to collect the cache of coins and jewelry and hears the noise. He turns, shines his flashlight and sees the eerie silhouette coming his way. He literally screamed like a little girl and ran. I felt like I was right there with him in that tunnel. Lol.
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

I love this movie, but I think the scene with Hank in the basement seeing the figure move is the only "scary" point in the film. Lots of fantastic tension and suspense, but that's my only fright moment.

Yes. The way he starts freaking out gave me the chills. I'm not even that scared of the dark - and that would bug me out. I would've been running as fast as I could/ just like he did

Although the seceded mentioned were scary, I found it was the slow-burn overall creepiness of the atmosphere that haunted me.
The voices during the sessions wereoff, somehow and really creeped me out.
Hank repeatedly saying "what are YOU doing here?" whilst he was gazing out of the window when they found him
The chair that's in the hallway (& on the poster) when we first hear 'Hello, Gordon'.
After I first watched it, I thought
'Well. That wasnt very scary and was overrated' but because I kept thinking about it, decided to watch the film again. And again. And again

Definitely the JIF peanut butter basement dark hallway shadow figure scene. Holy beep that has insane imagery and the soundtrack is terrifying at that exact sequence.
