This movie really wouldn't have been very good. I laughed at Vince Vaughn a few times and maybe chuckled at Luke Wilson but Ferrell is absolutely hilarious in this movie.

While Vaughn and Wilson do provide some laughs, I do concur with you that Ferrell's brand of humor truly made this movie
It's just a shame that his comedy started really declining right after "Old School". Now I just want him to go away (he can take Adam Sandler with him, too. Both are EXTREMELY overrated comedians)
When God made Tom Cruise, he was only joking. -

I feel he still had more in the tank after this film.
Elf, Anchorman (just the first one), Talladega Nights, Stranger Than Fiction, Step Brothers, and The Other Guys (IMHO) were very funny films.
Since 2011.I can't think of a funny Will Ferrell movie though. -

Yup, Old School was arguably his breakout film. He was hilarious in Jay and Silent Bob, but his part was pretty small. I agree 100% with your list of his good movies. I don't care if he never makes a good movie again, he already has a very impressive library. He is way funnier than Sandler ever was. No contest.
