today there are thruseters for space suit but in this show there are none ???
Actually, NO. There isn't
Modern space suits today do not have thrusters in them.
In point of fact No space suit has ever had thrusters.
NASA used to have a device called a Manned Maneuvering Unit, or MMU Which was a backpack system that attached to the back of the suits Environmental and life support backpack. But after safety reviews following the Challenger disaster they were deemed too unsafe and retired, only three were ever built.
All Spacewalks today are Tethered spacewalks or attached to the end of a remote manipulator arm.
there is another device, much like the MMU but a small stripped down version, called SAFER (
S

Good info CGSailor. Thanks. To the OPs point though, I'm in agreement that maneuverability in an EVA suit should be available in this universe but who's to say exactly what we're looking at here. The Serenity crew always had to make do with what they had at the time. It's not inconceivable that Mal just couldn't afford that feature when outfitting his ship. Survival suits vs. EVA suits? Maybe.

he's just bitter about being a coast guard and pretends to be a vet
So someone responds to a post with factual information and you respond with name calling and accuse him of being a troll? And you don't even realize that members of the Coast Guard don't have to pretend to be vets?
How sad. You should give up trolling. You just embarrass yourself.
Aliens? Us? Is this one of your Earth jokes?

read up on some of his posts, all he does is insult everyone and is a troll of the highest order
And yet, he's not trolling in this thread. He's being trolled.
and you clearly didn't get the vet joke mate
You mean where you made reference to being a veteran and made a lame remark about veterinarian? That doesn't rise to the level of being mildly amusing, much less a joke.

Do these guys look like they can even afford the kind of high-tech spacesuit that would have thrusters built in?
They could barely keep their decades old scrap-heap in the sky and barely kept themselves fed half the time.
Those suits basically look like they were home-made or were really old and probably came with the ship when Mal bought it, and the ship was old and barely functional then.
