I just finished watching this movie and I would have to agree with youits really kind of a disappointment when you find out about the whole cheating wife deal.
I kinda hoped it would have been something a lot darker from their past than the simple cheating wifebut i guess to some people thats dark enough huh? -

yeah, the movie was great up untill the end, cuz i found it kinda predictable that charlie would play i part in it. but then again, the movie is based on a true story so they dont have a whole lot of options.
and how do they just walk away after that, with one of them having a hugely mangled leg, and another slipping in and out of consciousness? and i think theyd be slightly more distraught than what they appeared.
but other than the ending, this was a pretty good movie. -

was it my imagination or did it say based on a true story at the beginning of the movie and I didn't like the end either especially the three of them walking away 1 of them got hit by a car and was pinned to the wall, and the other has a compund fracture

I figured it had to do with that girl, and I figured the sheriff was in on it, so I wasn't suprized, but I didn't think she would end up being his wife. I also didn't think Randy Quaid would be the main protagonist, just a helper, I thought the girl would be the main protagonist.
I do think the ending was a little too convenient. They are all banged up and they have no car, and they have no real way to explain why their car is destroyed, or why the sheriff is dead, but oh look there's a MN sign so they're all of a sudden safe and home? It's a little too convenient that they end up being right by the border. Plus, they still have to find a way home, in the cold, while banged up. Do they live right at the border or what?
I did really like this film though, despite the ending. It really kept my interest. I still give it a 10, and I don't give away too many 10s -

its a great straight to video flick no doubt but what in gods name was the director thinking about when he filmed that horrible ending. the whole movie was so exciting and then bam! luckily its good enough to own even with the horrible ending.

if you literally mean the final shot of em walkin away and we're supposed to think theyre just okay in the end then yeah, it seemed a little rushed, but if you mean just how it was all resolved. I kinda liked it, like how they had the story about C.J's scar(josh hammond looks sexy all scarred up) and the blood on the Harvard jacket, was kinda cool cos it was (at least i thought)showin how his football career was ruined all over one night.
But i was kinda pissed that it came to be the jock boy who was the big injury concern, CJ got hit by a friggin car!He was pinned to a wall, strung up in a tree, and he was just walkin around like, oh, i have scratch or two on my face, ho hum. Plus he lost like, every single layer he had, he shoulda been damned freezin!!Jeez, i guess i did kinda hate the endin. Go figurel

Very dissapointing, yeah. I was hoping to have a supernatural reason for the chase. That it was a 'car from Hell' movie. I mean, the caddy kept appearing AHEAD of them, after they had left it behind. After the caddy hit the cow and went off the road, it didn't look like it would be moving again, yet they had a scene as if the car had 'woke up' and roared. Then it shows up silently, went it shouldn't even be able to move. I was thinking also, that Quaid was dead, you know, like the ;ghostly hitch-hiker' in urban legends, and that he was there to protect the boys. Maybe the demon car had killed him years ago, and he was there to save the boys from his fate.
I think the movie I was imaging as I watched it was better than the one I actually saw. -

I agree. Dead End was very good. I thought this one was good too. The Car and Christine were also great movies. I think I'll buy this one for my collection.
Had a lot of "on the edge of your seat" moments which I like.
