It was stupid. Just like the rest of the film. At one point their truck breaks down. The guy says "where are we" and the other guy says "just north of philadelphia". So in the middle of the worst type of storm they walk to new york in a matter of days from beyond philadelphia.

Because hes his father, because he said he would come for him. You would do anything for your children thats why. Yes stupid but he was keeping his promise.

Also Jake isnt his name. Since you used the word dad and not Dennis you would call him Sam.

We all do this - we take things and people and happiness for granted - until the catastrophe happens - and only then we appreciate them all and become aware how much we missed.

I would've like to have told mine this also. They were both stabbed to death in prison, while serving a life sentence for putting my siblings and I into kiddie porn, before I was able to do so

Yeah, people in our lives are given to us on limited basis. One day they will be gone forever - like ourselves, also. We believe that people close to us are like some furniture, that will always be there in the background.
They won't. People will slip from our hands, and we cannot do nothing about it but only treat them with kindness and respect while they are with us.
