After all the years of wanting to see Jason go up against Freddy and this was the best you could give us diehard fans??? This movie was weak and next time please keep Kelly Rowland or any other RnB singers out of horror movies, goodness I hate when these singers think they can act but end up looking pathetic. Basically all the actors in this movie was pathetic.

I can't understand why people hate it so much. I think it did exactly what it was supposed to do with none of the lead menaces being out of character: Freddy attempted to come back to power by having teenagers killed and Jason was of his usual maniac killer. The two "monsters" fought each other both in the dream world and in the real one and there was no outrages "new" ability invented for any of them that had never been seen before. I for one like this movie, but it could be because this was the one that introduced me to Jason Voorhees. I never knew of the Friday the 13:th franchise before this.

Yes, there were, but in the form of outrageous new "disabilities", which is even worse: Jason's fear of water and being affected by drugs were both utterly asinine.
I don't dance, tell jokes or wear my pants too tight, but I do know about a thousand songs. -

I agree OP. Awful waste of potential here!
We could have had a great old school horror slasher like the first 4 Fridays and first 2 or 3 Nightmares, but instead we got something very cheesy and lame.
Steven Norrington would have been a much better choice of director. -

Did you see the second ANOES movie? A guy got killed in the shower, by being whipped to death with skipping ropes. -

AhhI wouldn't go that far and say it was an insult. I mean I liked it far more than Freddy's Dead and Jason Goes to Hell but it was definitely disappointing and I wouldn't blame the actors for that 'cause even with A-listers this movie would have been the same.
It don't matter if it's raining
Nothing can phase me
I make my own sunshine
And if you think you can break me
Baby, you're crazy
I make my own sunshine -

Lol OP is a joke. Let me ask you one question. In what Elm Street or Friday the 13th movie were any of the victim actors ever amazing? Hodder would've been better, but really anyone can pretty much play Jason. Up until Hodder they had like 3 or 4 different guys play him. You're watching movies where the sole plot is for teenagers to get murdered. Are you seriously expecting an oscar performance from one of them? With my tirade over, I liked it. Much better than Jason Goes to Hell which was pretty much meant for BET.

I think the problem many had with this movie is that it feels more like comedic horror. This issue though is because Freddy and Jason are 2 completely different type of horror villains. Jason doesn't give a crap about anything, if you get in his way, you are dead. He doesn't care how, as long as he gets you. Freddy, it's more psychological and then he eventually gets you but he gets you the way he wants to, in the dream world. It seemed Ronny Yu decided the best way to go was with the later Freddy films from 3 onwards where it is more wisecracking and silly. He gives Jason the opportunity to get just about every single kill in the movie, but the kills are just silly and funny type kills, they are not even 1/10 of the violent type that you saw from any of the Friday the 13th from the 80s.
