(It was in Bill Murray's contract.)
Look, she's depressed, I know the feeling. It's hard enough to get out of bed, let alone showering or changing chlothes. Not a doubt in my mind that they're the same panties as yesterday's.
I'm in bed in my underware, eating chocolate-caramel candies at 430 am. Take sleeping pills, but still awake. In my case, however, "Came the Dawn*", I at least have another room to go to, so sweatpants keep my neighbors from seeing my undies. Charlotte only has the one room, so get outta bed and "go to the window"** is all she's got for a little while.
AT LEAST SHE CAN SMOKE stupid other boards!
(History lesson)
*CAME THE DAWN = Poetic Silent Movie Titleboard
** "GO TO THE WINDOW" = What Leo McKern Chanted to Ringo over the Phone in HELP!
I prefer the toad less raveled. -

I totally get not wearing pants when you're chilling at home (or at least a hotel room). I also get feeling depressed, neglected, like life is passing you by.
And the many, many shots of Charlotte and her knees staring out at the Tokyo skyline started feeling copy-pasted after a while. Wait, I take that back. Some shots consisted of knees and their Charlotte staring out at the Tokyo skyline. What a twist! -

I live alone and literally never wear pants in my apartment. When I get home from work, I change into boxers and a t-shirtit doesn't matter what time of year it is or what the weather is like. If I'm home alone, I'm in boxers. It's just a comfort thing, nothing to do with sexualization. Same for her, I'm guessingalthough she's much easier on the eyes in her underwear than me, that's for sure.

What wrong with sexualization her character?
What's wrong with being comfortable in your home?
I love that she is a very sensuous and sexy woman.
It doesn't have to be "important" to the plot .. it's the little details that add dimension to a movie.
-It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything- -

I think her lack of pants and shoes and socks adds to her vulnerability. It also contributes to the sense that we are seeing her private moments as if we were ghosts observing her, and seeing more than any real person ever could.
I think this movie would have felt very different if we only saw Charlotte in pants and shoes.
The IMDb Boards end on Feb 20!
Farewell to you nice people out there! You know who you are.
