I get this movie is supposed to symbolize the hell Jesus went thru at the end of his life. But no human would have made it even halfway thru the 2nd set of torture without dying or atleast passing out from pain with the eventual death from blood loss and/or massive infection of the massive amount of wounds he suffered from it.

That's just one more example of Gibson's overkill re: unnecessary gore.
Granted, Roman flagellation was called "the Halfway Death" because of its severity, and it surely contributed to Jesus' "too early" death on the cross. But as you say, the increased level of torture that came from Gibson's dark fantasies, would likely have killed Jesus on the spot.

thanks for your personal opinion. but the Bible says he survived it, then went to the cross.
Im going to believe the Bible, rather than you.

The Bible also noted talking snakes, virgin births and men living in fish, so hardly a believable source! lol
