Buuuut the worst thing is all the good reviews from you people "awww its such a feel good story!"The only thing this bloody awful movie makes me feel is pain & misery .. gtfo

Exactly!! For the first ten minutes of this movie I was going crazy screaming at my tv that he doesn't understand a word they're saying, yet they continue yammering at him quickly and expect him to know what the frack they're talking about. It's idiotic.

You do know that this movie is based on a true story that took place in the Paris airport.

The movie had great potential and could have been a great satire. But naturally since it's Spielberg that never happens. Instead it goes nowhere to the point that it becomes pointless.
But what did people expect? That's what happens when uncle cosy directs: no one gets offended, everyone is comfortable. -

Watched this movie last night for the first time since seeing it in the cinema first time around. Time has not been kind. I seem to recall there were a few of these really cringeworthy, unapologetic throwback rom-coms happening at that time. The setup is actually quite intriguing but the way it descends so rapidly into schmaltz is like watching a very slow plane crash.
My movie reviews:

Yeah, I haven't seen Always or 1941 so I can't say this is the worst Spielberg movie, but it is the worst Spielberg movie that I have seen, and I have seen Hook and the even numbered Indiana Jones movies.

Read the whole ping pong of dialogue in this section of the message boards and I have to say that I haven't laughed that much- my jaw is sore. Sure I came to read about this movie (which I liked) and interested in hearing other people's and reactions- but I hadn't expected this funny 'but not supposed to be' dialogue. Hopefully someday, someone will make a movie about the absurdities of message boards.
