The violence isn't any worse than what you might see on television, there was maybe one use of the "F" word what else?

In this case the R rating could perhaps help the movie gain an audience.
All of subject matter is for adults, both the murders and Capote's life.
If someone was undecided about seeing it, PG-13 might make it less serious, or suggest censorship or being watered down per se?
On TV they just want to sell commercials, so different standards.
