I'm assuming she wasn't pregnant but was lying about it to force the issue with Chris (make him tell his wife he's in love with someone else).
Perhaps during the the conversation between the two police officers at the end, one of them should have said "Now, if perhaps the autopsy had shown she was pregnant that would have been a huge motive".
That would have made the police shelving Chris' suspected involvement and thus writing the whole thing off as a crime involving drugs easier to believe.

I have the feeling she wasn't pregnant either and was making that up to force Chris to admit to Chloe his affair and his intention to be with Nola. He never demanded proof from Nola and just believed her, notice? He didn't demand a sonogram or anything like that. Maybe the reason the police didn't bring it up was that they saw she wasn't pregnant and of course, they didn't know she had mentioned it to Chris and Chris didn't mention it to the cops.
