I speak from experience: when it comes to Hispanics, they are all related.
sorry if that upsets anyone but it really is true. my colleague at work is Hispanic [along with about 50% of the rest of my colleagues] and she is constantly going to either baby showers or funerals.
and ot to this thread haha on the Spanish teacher teaching the Spanish language!! again, I speak from experience they don't actually speak Spanish from spain! they speak another dialect of it. you can't go to them with however many years of classical Spanish you have under your belt and have a conversation. there will be a disconnect somewhere and it's the dialect they speak.
but don't tell them they don't speak Spanish, they freak out!
Reading the paper can really be depressing. Mr. Dithers fired Dagwood again.

They speak Portuguese or other dialects but that goes for almost every region in South Anerica or Spain. The Spanish they teach kids in the US is general and will get you by pretty much anywhere people speak Spanish but there are hundreds of different dialects.

That cop was a punk. But yeah they all have a hundred cousins, theas and theos. I work for CPS and I am always working cases where they are the perps.
