Haven't you ever seen a 6 legged animal before? Which planet do you live? Because on my world, we have those in every single region of it. Even on ice.

Have you ever seen something with 6 legs that weighs more than a few pound like in the movie?

Obviously you weren't pain attention. Pandora's gravity is much lower than Earth's. According to published material, a sixth to be more precise. That's why there can be huge six legged animals there, huge gigantic trees and also floating mountains. In this case there's also the mag-lev effect involved.

Ok, then we are now in the realm of fiction in the world we know, there are no animals weighing more than a few pounds that have more than 4 limbs.
I just don't see what usefulness these two extra limbs would have they would be a hindrance more than anything else.
In the end, it's just a movie anyway along with the glowing blue plants, I guess it makes it all look more alien.

Well, what do you know, yet again you are wrong. The colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) can weight up to 1600 pounds. And it has 10 limbs.

Well you got me there. Well done!
I still don't see the usefulness of having 6 limbs for a large terrestrial animal.

                    Thanks.
Well, the more limbs you have the better, I figure. We only have four limbs because we are limited by gravity. But consider a world with a much weaker gravitational pull and that's a whole different story.

Why weren't any of the characters floating around?

Not that much lower. According to external sources, 20% less that of Earth. Mars' for instance is 60% less and the Moon's is 85%.

For some nutty reason I like the Pandora floating mountains. Why? Because they look cool.

Just watched it (for probably the 5th time) and thought about the floating mountains but my question was where the water for the waterfalls comes from.

the floating mountains are another ripoff of artist Roger Dean.
